Share Cards

What is a Share Card?

  • A share card is a wonderful alternative gift to give in place of a material item. It lets the recipient know you are thinking of them, honors them, and helps a non-profit organization fulfill its mission. A Share Card includes a description of the organization and how the support will help them realize their mission as well as a greeting card featuring artwork created by adults with developmental disabilities.

Why would you purchase a Share Card?

  • A Share Card is a perfect gift for the person concerned with the greater good and believes that giving is at least as rewarding as getting. By being recognized with a Share Card, the recipient as well as the purchaser is giving a gift—giving Twice the Gift. Funds raised will go to directly to worthy local organizations.

What amount do share cards come in?

  • The share card can be in any denomination a customer chooses.  The suggested guideline is $5.00 or more.

Where does the money go from the purchases?

  • The customer dollars spent will cycle back to the nonprofits minus a small commission fee schedule. The intent behind Twice the Gift is to offer nonprofits an avenue to increase revenues and supporters.

General Information about Twice the Gift

What is the history of Twice the Gift?  How many years has it been in operation?

  • The Pohlad Family Foundation created and funded Twice the Gift (TTG) and ran the operation for the years 2007 and 2008. From inception the goal was for the project to “sprout wings and fly”, by operating more independently in the near and longer- range future. The vision was to make Twice the Gift the “go to place” for supporting deserving nonprofit organizations and over the last two years the TTG store was highly successful. The store was open during the last 2 holiday seasons from after Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. In that short amount of time the store sold $70,000 in 2007 and $100,000 in 2008 with a projection for 2009 of $125,000 with the additional days the store will be open.

What is the role of Partnership Resources, Inc. in the store?

  • Partnership Resources wrote a grant to the Pohlad Family Foundation to take the lead on TTG. We received the grant for operating costs for 2009. All of us at PRI are proud to accept the grant and are committed to continuing the foundation’s legacy.  PRI’s goal is simple: build on the TTG’s wonderful successes and make it the “go to place” for supporting deserving nonprofit organizations.

  • Participating organizations will continue to provide unique products and gift ideas including share card donations. Furthermore, TTG’s unique partnership of like-mined nonprofits joining forces will continue to greatly increase the awareness level of the community as a whole. Through this venue, generous individuals will contribute to many deserving causes all at once. And all at one place!

What is the mission and goal of Twice the Gift?

  • TTG is an exciting organization and concept that can grow and evolve into a major player in the ever changing businesses of retail, virtual shopping and dynamic fundraising. The long range dream of TTG is to develop many sites throughout the metro area, both stores and kiosks in malls. Year round web site and retail locations would be available to support generous donations to many different nonprofits. With access by many through the web this enters the global arena giving nonprofits a far and wide reach. This expansion would be regionally and then nationally. It is PRI’s intention to further develop the TTG concept and expand sales opportunities and fundraising. Funding and future support for these sites will be through sponsorships, grants and donations from major businesses.

What products does Twice the Gift sell?

  • Products at Twice the Gift range from holiday gifts to clothing to coffee and nuts.  It is the perfect place to find holiday gifts, hostess gifts and business gift.  Some of the other products are note and holiday cards, animal toys and blankets, jewelry, books, original paintings and prints, glassworks, hand beaded animals and CDs and DVDs.  There is something for everyone.

  • Twice the Gifts also sells Share Cards.

What can be purchased on-line?

  • This year the only purchases that can be made on-line are share cards.

Where is the store?

  • The Twice the Gift retail store is located in the IDS Center Crystal Court:

What are the store hours?

  • Monday through Saturday 10-6

  • Sundays in December 12-5

How long with the store be operational?

  • The store will be open through the holiday season. We are planning on the 31st of December.

Has Twice the Gift always been at the IDS Center?

  • The first two years TTG was in existence it was located at Gaviidae Center. The move to the IDS Center occurred this year with the hope that there would be an increase in foot traffic and thus an increase in sales.
